Like most war medals, Boer War medals do indeed have a monetary value. It depends on the medal, but I would suggest keeping them as they are part of history.

The short answer is yes, but there are many things that will effect their value. Condition and rarity of the medals will both have a direct impact on value. Provenance can also have a major impact on value - this can include other information about your grandfather's service in the war and reasons for receiving the medals.
