Laminate floors are good in a number of applications, i.e. anywhere they won't regularly be introduced to water. They are highly sensitive to water so avoid bathrooms or kitchens.

Laminate floors are very durable. They hold up to 40,000 pounds per square inch. They are stain and scratch resistant. A damp mop and a vacuum to sweep up the dust bunnies easily clean the floor. With proper care, the floor can last decades.

"Good" is a relative term. I personally like laminate floors because anyone can install them. This saves labor costs over carpeted or tiled flooring. Laminate floors are durable, easy to clean and can be replaced board by board if damaged.

We had laminated floors in a high traffic area and it did not hold up very well at all. Within two years it was basically worn out.
