If you paint all the walls of a room red, it can be a little intense. However, red does make a great accent wall. Choose a wall that will not have bright light on it as red paint tends to show flaws in the wall or brush marks.

Red is a great color, I just would make sure that the color is what you really want. When it comes time to repaint you will have to use a couple layers of primer to cover up the red. If not the next color won't come out right.

Red is a striking wall color but only if done right. Be sure to use a grey primer and choose a warm, deep shade of red. Without a primer and with too light of a shade of red, the wall may look orange and streaky.

Red walls can be beautiful--warm, inviting, rich. The shade of red you select is important-if your room is contemporary, a "primary" red might be best. If you are going for a more elegant/historic look, a muted red might be better.

It depends on the room you plan to paint red, as well as what hue of red. Red would not be a good choice in a kitchen, living room, or nursery. However, if you only choose to paint one wall red, it might be stunning choice for a dining room.
