the meds for this disorder are in pill form. From what I have learned and read I do not think they give shots for this unless in a hospital environment when needing to give a sedative that will have an effect almost immediately to help stabilize a patient so that the persons mood is controlled.

There is actually a new injectable for bipolar disorder which is called Resperidone Long Acting Injectable (RLAI) this has not been fully developed and are still doing trials but they say that it is used for frequent relapse of bipolar disorder and is done in 3 phases within a year, injecting this medicine with a placebo.

Injectable medications are used to get medication into the body faster and more effectively than oral medications. Oral medications are formulated to pass through the digestive system and then be absorbed into the bloodstream, often with at time-release factor added. Pschotropic meds are intended to be taken daily, by mouth.

There are no injections for bipolar medications. Bipolar medications are always pill form. Many medications have a half life which would not be able to work through an injection.
