Can Asperger syndrome cause a speech impediment?

Asperger syndrome causes speech or behavioral diffculties. But does not cause speech impediment or stammering. This syndrome causes difficulties in social interaction, difficulty in understanding the meaning or interpretation of words, sentences or language form, talking loudly in strange rythm, interrupting others, lack of eye contact etc.

Children who have Asperger will sometimes have speech impediments early in life. Asperger Syndrome causes a kind of lack of proper social interaction and reaction. Children with Asperger may speak with improper pitch or rhythm, sometimes in a monotone manner.

They are two seperate things. The speech patterns of someone with AS are recognized by a lack of rythem,or a monotone pitch. They can't modulate their voice to their surroundings.

Asperger's syndrome is a form of Autism. Speech impediment is a common characteristic of those with Asperger's Syndrome, but is considered a seperate condition. High piched, monotone, and stuttering are all very common variations in the speech of those affected with Asperger's Syndrome.

Asperger's could be related to speech issues, but other things of lesser seriousness can also cause speech issues. Hearing problems can lead to speech impediments. Problems associated with the muscles of the mouth and tongue can cause speech impediments. The best course of action is to have the person evaluerated by your doctor and a speech therapist

Aspergers syndrome is a mild form of autism. This condition usually isn't seen with a speech impediment, but rather a lack in speech development. Normally, a speech impediment is cause by a malformation of the mouth or lips, not a neurological disorder.

Yes this can cause delay in development in several areas. Usually it has to do with speech or with mingling or being around other people.
