Can I give rib bones to a dog?

It is not recommended. Dogs have extremely strong jaws that can easily break the bone or cause it to splinter. Dogs have been known to ingest these bone fragments and become very sick. Instead, choose a toy designed for chewing like a Kong, or one of the bigger, stronger bones sold at pet stores.

It's not a good idea to give your dog any kind of bones from your dinner. The worse bone you can give your dog is a Pork Chop bone. If you give a dog a bone your dog could bite it and possibly cause it to splinter. The little splinters can potentially stab your dogs organs and insides when swallowed.

It is not safe to give rib bones to a dog once they have been cooked. The bones are to easily splintered and can harm your dog.

Yes. Any bones are fine for dogs so long as they are raw/uncooked... with the exception of fish bones which are too small and razor sharp.
