Yes you can go to jail for writing bad checks, but ony if the store you wrote the check to decides to prosecute you. You will have to pay the check charges to the store and the amount of the bad check, you also have to pay the bank for overdrafting.

If you are writing bad checks it is called check kiting. Usually a business will give you a limited period to cover the check with either cash or bank check. If you do not cover it they will contact the State Attorneys office to procecute. The answer is YES.

You can go to jail for writing "bad" checks. That is the same as stealing. If is was a mistake most business will let you pay them back.

Yes, if you forge someone else's signature on a check that isn't yours you can get arrested. If you write checks that have non sufficient funds you can go to jail. If you write one bad check it most likely will be forgiven, but if you keep doing it and you know there is no money, jail here you come.
