You can not purchase Absinthe in Canada and bring it back into the U.S. Absinthe is illegal in the U.S. and taking it across the boarder would be illegal and punished by the law. The same rulles apply for personal consumption.

Absinthe, at least the real Absinthe, is completely illegal in the United States. They will not allow you to take it across the border if they see that you have it. There are certain types however that do no contain the drug that is illegal here. Though many think it's just as good, it doesn't have nearly the same effect.

To be legal in the U.S., absinthe must contain less than 10 ppm of thujone to be considered "thujone free". Most absinthe sold does meet these regulations. However it is technically considered a "prohibited" item and can be confiscated by customs. Also you should do some research and make sure you are actually buy authentic quality absinthe.

You could brings some in from Canada assuming customs allows you to. However it is pointless since Absinthe can be purchased legally in the U.S. and ordered online from overseas.
