Could a feline have a sweet tooth?

Cats do tend to seem to enjoy eating sweet foods. Everything from doughnuts to cake can be favorite treats of cats. However, cats don't have the ability to taste sweet things so it is some other characteristic which draws them to it.

No, cats do not have taste receptors on their tongues for sweetness. Most likely, the cat is responding to some other taste in the subject he or she enjoys.

I don't know if they should but my cat loves things like whip cream and Ice tea with sugar so I guess they can have a sweet tooth.

Cats are like any other type of animal and will have specific likes and dislikes. Any cat that is exposed to sugary foods may well like sweets in the future as well.
