Usually it is only the voice box that can be connected with a thyroidectomy procedure, although side effects of the anesthesia includes blurry vision, nausea, and vomiting. Also the thyroid is responsible for metabolism so it can be possible that it does not secrete enough metabolic hormones which causes the blurred vision though you can cure it with thyroid supplements.

Many times blurred vision can be caused by a deficiency in certain vitamins such as vitamins D and B12. The removal of the thyroid gland, also called a thyroidectomy, is a common cause for the body to become deficient in one or more of these necessary vitamins which leads to the requirement of vitamin supplements.

Blurred vision is common after a thyroidectomy. It can be caused by a deficiency in either Vitamin B12 or Vitamin D, which happens after the procedure. Headaches and itching are also common side-effects. However, the blurred vision could be symptomatic of another disorder, anything from Raynaud's to a recent injury. See a GP.

A thyroidectomy will typically affect your necks in stiffness and cause your voice to become hoarser, however, the surgery has not been linked to visual problems. If the problem persists, see a doctor.
