Could spinal stenosis be related to Agent Orange?

I have spinal stenosis.

Agent Orange is a nerve agent, so it is entirely possible that exposure to this chemical could have contributed to spinal stenosis.

My son's father was exposed to Agent Orange and now he has spinal stenosis. Will the VA help? He has had one fusion already. add a comment

My son's father was exposed to Agent Orange and died of cancer last year. Our son has spinnal stenosis and has had one fusion with no relief. Will the VA help? add a comment

Spinal stenosis is a condition in which the spinal canal is narrowed, pinching nerves exiting teh spine, resulting in pain. It is generally considered a degenerative disease, meaning that it happens due to wear and tear on the body. It would not be caused by Agent Orange exposure.

In my opinion it is. There are alot of studies going on right now to decided this. It is only a matter of time before it is a known fact in the medical world.

As far as I have been taught in the first 3 years of medical school, spinal stenosis is caused by the normal aging process (such as disk degeneration), genetic predisposition (as in several genetic disorders), or mechanical trauma (such as car accidents). I've never heard of an environmental agent causing it, nor could I imagine how it could.
