The obvious reason is that every election is different, and every vote counts. If 100 thousand people all thought the same thing, that their one vote won't matter, that makes a huge difference. All it takes is one single vote to make the difference between a winner and a loser.

Voting is the backbone of our government. It's the biggest way to affect changes we need. Those who do not vote have no excuse when things are going poorly.
