Did Jesus Christ have brothers?

Matthew 13:55 lists four brothers: James, Joses (or Joseph), Simon, and Judas. The standard Christian teaching is that these are half-brothers because they have a different father (God for Jesus, but Joseph for the others) but the same mother (Mary), or else they were Joseph's sons from a previous marriage.

There is no written evidence that Jesus Christ had brothers. There has been much speculation about the subject as is there with him having a wife and kids. There has never been any written documentation that would support the stance that Jesus Christ had brothers. Much of what is written is about his teachings and example.
