Michael Jordan has in fact retired three times from basketball. He retired twice as a member of the Chicago Bulls and once as a member of the Washington Wizards. In between his two stints with the Bulls, Jordan played baseball for the Birmingham Barons, a minor-league team belonging to the Chicago White Sox.

Michael Jordon has retired quite a few times. He retired from Basketball after his increadibly successful career with the Bulls, then came back, then retired again. He played quite a bit of golf for money but that turned into a nasty gambling habit (or so the rumors go) which he has also retired from.

Michael Jordan retired three times. He retired from the Bulls in 1994 to play baseball. After a year in the minors, he returned to the Bulls. In 1999 he joined the Washington Wizards as part-owner and manager. In 2001-2003 he was a Wizards player. Since then, he has played celebrity golf, run a clothing line, and bought the Charlotte Bobcats.
