A baby duck can make a good pet but make sure he has a water source where he can swim. Baby ducks also are prey to many wild or domestic animals. Just make sure he is looked after while he is outside until he can grow a little bigger and can defend himself.

Baby ducks are only babies for a short time, then they become full-sized ducks. While ducks can demonstrate a bond with a person, they generally are not considered pets in that they are not kept in the house. They are barnyard animals.
