Yes, there are many engines that interchange throughout a wide range of years. If you have a project in mind you can do an internet search to determine if it is feasible. There are also interchange manuals and books out there that you can buy! But Ford has a massive parts interchange!

Yes at one time they did. Back in the old days pretty every car could accept other engines easily with little modification. However as technology got more advance cars got smaller. Cars became more engineered and engine bay got tighter and more restrictive. Nowadays no cars allow engine to swapped out easily.

Yes they can sometime interchange. Most all the older engine could be easily swapped. However most newer cars can only use specific ones. Usually this information can be found on website and model-specific forums.

Sure. Lots of different engines went in the same or similar model cars. You can also go online and search for adapter kits that allow you to interchange engines in cars.

89 to 93 Model engine parts of Ford just work on one, they not interchangeable.Because they are made first time with most compatibility and more efficiently work, their life of engines is good. So thats why they are rarely changed.So the parts are unvailable as they worked for more than a century.
