Do I have to pull the engine to install a new clutch in a Saturn SC2?

No. Jack up car. Put jack stands to support car. Disconnect cables and wires from transmission housing. Remove bolts that attach transmission and engine and support transmission. Remove Clutch. to install do the reverse

no, dropping the transmission by disconnecting it from the harness, front wheel drive axles and unbolting it from the engine allows you to remove the transmission giving you access to the clutch and flywheel. re-alignment of the splines on the clutch shaft to the engine and flywheel is difficult

No, you pull the transmission. The basic procedure is real simple to describe: remove both CV axles, unhook everything around the transmission, unbolt it from the engine, lower it, put the new clutch in, then reinstall everything. It takes about a day to do, and the only special tool you need is a transmission jack.
