Do you pay coinsurance up front?

When you go to the doctor if you have a Co-pay for your insurance you have to pay it right up front in most cases. Now days the receptionist asks for it as soon as you sign in to see the doctor. Others will make you pay when you check out.

It can vary depending upon who is providing the services, but you generally have to pay any co-insurance in advance.

With Aetna I know it is not up front but you will be billed it later. I can't speak for other companies.
