Like any piercing, tragus piercing has some risks. You can get infection because of the unsterilized instruments. That kind of infection may lead to infection of surrounding tissue and pain. It can be cured with antibiotics, but sometimes surgery is needed. Also, there is a risk of getting a hepatits B or C, as well as HIV virus.

The tragus piercing has been described as painful and easily infected. Because part of the piercing is inside the ear, bacteria are more likely to build up in this area. There have also been reports of inner ear infections and loss of balance due to infected tragus piercings.

There isn't much of a risk at all. Its mostly just the sterilization of the needle that you have to worry about, so get it professionally. It's also quite painless, because that area has no nerve endings.

The piercing process itself is not a huge risk, the actual risk is the possiblility of infection for up to 3 months after the piercing was done. The tragus piercing hits no nerve endings but also has no blood supply so therefore, it will be harder to fight infections off.

A tragus piercing has no risk other than infection if it is not properly cleaned, or if you put dirty jewelry in it.

All piercings if improperly cared for run the risk of infection, but a tragus piercing does not present any possible permanent risk on it's own. Make sure that you go to reputable establishment, all needles and jewelry is properly sterilized and you follow your piercer's aftercare suggestions.

Any piercing has risks of accidentally being on a nerve, getting infected, and a very low risk of scar-related skin cancer, and a tragus can migrate under pressure.

I have my tragus pierced and the most common problem is getting hit in the ear and having the piercing area become sore again after healing.

As with any piercing, there is a possibility of infection when you have your tragus pierced. Other risks include pain and annoyance, which may take a long time to subside.
