Lactic acid actually causes sore muscles. There's a build up in excess which causes a soreness, the best way to soothe them is normally a massage or a WARM bath. Massaging distributes and helps flow of lactic acid. The warm bath would do the same. Drink some water and relax as well.

Lactic acid will not help muscles, in fact, lactic acid is what accumulates in the muscle during rigorous workouts that cause the burning sensation.

No, lactic acid does not fix sore muscles. Lactic acid is a waste byproduct that is produced by muscles when there is not enough oxygen getting to them for their level of activity and they are working anaerobically. Lactic acidic build-up is one reason muscles get sore when overworked.
