Yes. A coronation is a solemn service and the crowns that are placed on the head of monarchs during a coronation are heavier and usually more valuable. For day to day use, a king or queen will wear either a lighter crown or some may wear no crown at all.

Traditionally, most royalty has a special crown for that particular ceremony. Their normal crown is much less decorated, maybe one or two jewels on a gold circlet, instead of multipal jewels adorning silks, satins and precious metals.

Yes. Modern royals dont usually wear a crown in regular life. What would be considered their "regular" crown would be less elaborate and would be lighter than a coronation crown.
