Sugar on your grass may kill the weeds, but you may also damage the grass, attract ants, and essentially provide on nutrient value to the grass itself. There are good results with black strap molasses in Florida on St Augustine grass, but best results are to use the proper weed and feed fertilizer for your grass and area.

Sugar does not kill weeds. However putting sugar on your grass is like feeding it and overtime your grass will grow healthier and thicker with less weeds.

Putting sugar on the weeds will not kill anything: not the grass, not the weeds, not anything. All sugar will do is nurish the healthy microbes in the soil making it more nutrient rich which in turn attracts the critters that thrive in good soil. Get a weed killer to kill the weeds
