Does the manual for a Mercury outboard tell about repairs?

I would like to repair mine myself.

It will tell you basic part locations and some minor troubleshooting. Anything more in depth you will need a outboard engine repair book or a small engine repair book.

From the information I was able to find it looks like one should be able to do some repairs on your own from the instructions from the owners manual. Such repairs as General repairs and possibly outboard started repairs and perhaps being able to repair damaged threads as well.

A repair manual will cover everything from oil changes down to a complete overhaul (disassembly and reinstallation). There is a difference between a repair manual and an Owner's Manual, which will only cover warranty periods and oil change intervals.

The manual of a Mecury outboard does not tell you about repairs. With that being said, if you go to you local repair shop they will most likely have the instructions. Unfortunately the manual does not tell you about repairs.
