You mostly cannot. Your loved one should have given you a APO or FPO address to which you can send mail/packages. The individual would have also told you of his/her destination, had that information been available. Not all troops are able to make their locations known. It is logical to assume that this person would have given you the info.

The military expects that a "loved one" would keep you informed of his/her location and is not likely to release information. If you have an emergency and are estranged from a family member that needs to be contacted, you can go through the American Red Cross to send a communication.

Chck with his/her homestation commander and they can find out where they are stationed. Though if they are at a base that has limited facilities it will be harder to actually contact them. If you haven't tried e-mailing him/her that is generally a good bet too. If you have a copy of their orders that works too.

Call them or send them an email and ask. Even in combat zones today, military personnel still have access to outside communications.

You can find where a loved one is stationed by contacting their rear group where he is assigned to in the US. They will provide the information.

Go to the American Red Cross and give them any information you have on your loved one and they should be able to find them for you.

The best way to do that would be to ask them yourself. If you don't have an address for them, call their parents or the remain behind element of his or her unit.
