Try opening an Ebay account and start "selling" your necklace and rings. Pretend you're actually across the counter from a customer and start typing the description of one of your products as if you are really selling it to someone across the counter. Else, just ask the potential employer for volunteer work to gain experience.

Put a resume togehter and go and apply at every local jeweler you can find. The only way to get the expierence is to go out and find a job.

Start at department stores and you can learn a lot. Places like K-Mart, Wal-Mart, TJ Maxx and Value City hire for their jewelry department. Then once you get experience you can apply at jewelry stores that sell expensive jewelry and get better pay and or commission.

You should probably start at a retail department store jewelry department first. Most stores that strictly sell jewelry want someone with experience, but department stores (Kmart, Wal-Mart, JCPenney, etc.) don't usually require prior jewelry sales.

One way to get jewelry sales work experience is to go to local jewelers and ask if you could work as an unpaid intern! Not many people would turn that down in this economy. Yet another way is to go to local jewelers and ask if you could work strictly on commission. This would be great for a go getter.

1. Sell on commission basis for someone at craft fairs or flea markets, getting experience and a job referral for when you move on. 2. Help an eBay jewelry retailer by taking photos and getting pricing information, thus getting a recommendation in the job field and getting experience. 3. Offer to work as a cashier in a jewelry retailer.

You can go to a jewelry store and ask if you can apprentice at a reduced rate per hour or for free.

Accept a PT or intern job at a local jewlery store or bead shop that sells jewlery, find a jewler who will take you on as an apprentise.

Approximately 8 weeks before Christmas, dress in your most conservative, yet sharp looking outfit. Go to down your local mall, and apply for a job at one of the jewelry stores. Smile pleasantly at every opportunity, and emphasize your desire to gain experience in jewelry sales. Keep at it until someone hires you. Good luck!
