Gout is not that dangerous in women. It can affect anyone and men are more likely to get gout. Women become more vulnerable to gout after menopause and the percentage of women with gout increases with age and medical conditions like hypertension and diabetes.

Gout is uncommon in most women, however, they can become more susceptible to it post-menopause. It is a painful and possibly debilitating disease.

It is just as dangerous in men and women. Gout is caused by a persons inability to metabolize uric acid. The joint most commonly affected is the big toe.

It isn't anymore dangerous in a woman than it is an a man. Waht makes it more dangerous is if you do not seek treatment for it.

Studies have shown that women with gout have a much higher risk of having a heart attack. One of the problems is that gout is hard to diagnose in women. Women tend to have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and kidney disease along with there gout. This makes treating the disease more difficult.
