To direct capture from your digital camera to your pc, you plug the digital camera into the pc using a firewire or usb cable. You must have software that recognizes the camera. The software should recognize the camera and assist you in uploading the video from your camera to your pc.

Most camera manufacturer will have a program that will allow you to direct capture when the camera is plugged into the PC via USB cable. Its not always available for point and shoot cameras like it is with Digital SLR cameras. Nikon's has a few programs for this such as "Nikon Camera Control Pro" and "Nikon Capture. "

You should have a usb cable with the camera. If you don't then get one. Hook the usb cable to both units camera and PC. Follow the on screen prompts when they apperar on the screen. It will normally take moments for this to show.
