First if it has airbags follow disconect and removal steps, to insure saftey. THe next thing is to remove the horn button and posibly the turn singal switch. you should then see three bolt that tighten the colum and one big for the wheel.just tighten everybolt carefull to torque specs and assemble.

If your steering wheel is loose, chances are that the steering column is fractured and has to be replaced. This is a common problem on S10's, especially if you use your truck for off roading or extensive towing. You'll need to disable the airbag before you remove the steering column. Once removed, just screw the new one in place.

Given that the steering platform of a chevy S10 is somewhat modular, you can disassemble and assemble it right away as only screws are being used to connect the different parts. It may have parts that needs are loosened so you need to disassemble and assemble the parts tightly. Moreover, torn parts should be replaced.

IF you have slack in the steering then you may have loose components in the system. Get under the truck and check all your arms and connections for loose hardware or play. Replace worn parts and make sure everything is properly lubricated.

You may have to replace the joint that connects it to the yoke of the steering arm. These parts often wear out.

Well a loose wheel means loose steering components. Get under the truck and look for loose or worn parts. Check to make sure everything is snug and properly lubricated to keep it from binding.
