How do I fix a voice coil on my subwoofer?

Ouch. First I would ask myself if I really wanted to do this. Your best option in my opinion is to replace the speaker in the subwoofer. Rewinding a voicecoil is not a task for the light hearted. Also, some speakers (Altec Lansing, for example) used flattened copper wire (to create a more dense winding).

As with most repair jobs of this nature you're going to need a few things. You'll need a complete set of tools: Sockets, Allen Wrenches, Screwdrivers, and any raw materials for patch work. Consult the item manual for a schematic so that you have a better understanding of what goes-where.

The voice coil on a sub is the wiring wound inside the sub, there is no sub that i know of that it is feasible to fix the voice coil. It would involve completely taking the sub apart and taking the old wiring out and replacing it with new wiring.

It should not be fixed. Getting the parts replaced may still have an impact on the subwoofer which may cause it to never sound as good as it once was.

Unfortunately this is a harder piece to fix, first you have to cut the dust cap and foam off of the speaker them remove the cone from the housing. the voice coil is removed from the spider then the new one is inserted and you reassemble it.
