You need to pay attention, seriously. How often does he seek you out? Does he look at you directly? Does he suggest doing something (library, movies), together? But don't overlook the very shy boys who do none of these things; even more attention must be paid to get it right.

Watch what they do. If they listen to you, and find reasons to be around you, then they almost certainly like you.
