The steering column must be disassembled to reach the ignition cylinder. Remove any screws securing the plastic covers on column and the ignition cylinder should be exposed. Disconnect any fasteners or connection wires to remove cylinder.

You will have to pull the steering wheel off and pull the cover off of the steering wheel shaft. Do so will give you access to the cylinder.

Disconnect the negative batter terminal and wait 2 minutes, this will disable the airbag. You'll need to remove the upper and lower steering wheel covers, and you may need an extra long torx screwdriver to do this. Once the plastic is away, you'll be able to see the main wiring harness to disconnect, and how to unscrew it.

Turn the ignition to the "On" position. Taking a straightened paper clip, placing it in the hole of the ignition switch will release the cylinder, pull it out.
