To plan a hillbilly party just do your invites, everyone wearing overalls and hats. They can even come barefoot. Have lots of foot stomping music. Hire someone to call square dancing if you want. Put straw and lots of bandannas around for decorations. Have jugs for decorations and to make music. Chew lots of gum. Have a great time.

I would encourage the guests to dress up in "hilbilly" attire like overalls or worn out jeans and flannel shirts. Play some old fashioned country or bluegrass music. I'd server something like chicken fingers or burgers but come up with clever names like possum fritters or racoonburgers. Depending on if you do alcohol or not you could server Mountain Dew.

Do everything you think hillbillies do. Drink alcohol out of xxx gallon jugs, dress up in overalls and goofy hats, have someone on a banjo and maybe washboard. Watch old episodes of the Beverly Hillbillies for more ideas.

Watch lots of old hillbilly shows like Hee Haw, the Dukes of Hazard and Green Acres and duplicate things you see. You can even buy legal moon shine at your local liquor store.

Andy Griffith and The Waltons has some entertaining scenes of rural life in celebration. Another good place to look would be with proud self-identified hillbillies such as the people behind the Baker Creek Seed company, who have preplanned ideas including charity connections to help actual rural people live better and more healthy lives.

Serve box wine and whiskey in a jug marked moonshine or just XXX. Also, wear blue jean overalls. Someone should also play the banjo and other home made instruments. Also feel free to make up hyphenated names like peggy-lou or sue-ann.
