How do I replace a blower motor in my Ford Taurus?

You'll see the round, black blower motor on the right side of the passenger side of the car, under the glove compartment gently push in the two retaining bars on either side of the glove box door and let the door drop down. removing the door is easier, three screws holding the motor in Then reverse everything and your Done

You have to have that done by a garage because it is directly linked to the vehicles internal computer and you don't want to mess it up.

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove instrument panel and insulator. Detach the wiring connector at the blower motor. Remove the 3 screws retaining the blower motor to the evaporator housing.

You can order a replacement fairly cheap, but its a tight squeeze in there, I suggest you let a professional do it, or you could actually end up loosing a finger. Remember to unplug the battery before you begin any project on any vehicle. It will prevent the fan from coming on, but also from shorting the system.

You are going to need to take the battery cables off and then you can replace the blower motor once you have located it.

You will need to first remove the old blower motor, usually located under the dash, passengers side. Remove the 5 or 6 bolts holding it in, and disconnect the electircal connector. Then you can put a new one in, and install the bolts. Then re-connect the electrical connector and that's it.

Disconnect wiring from motor. Remove Screws Blower motor and Wheel Assembly. Separate the blower motor wheel by removing the blower motor shaft. Reverse to install.....

Remove the negative battery terminal. Disengage the instrument panel insulator from the insulator panel. Disconnect the wiring connector at the blower motor. Remove the blower motor and wheel assembly. If needed separate blower motor wheel from blower motor. Now replace the blower motor and reverse the steps to install again.

You need to first locate the air conditioning unit, which in the taurus it is in the lower left corner. You need to unbolt the 6 connecting bolts and disassemble the blower hosing. You also need to unplug the wiring that is running to the blower. Then just swap in the new unit for the old.

You should take it in to the repair shop to have it fixed. They would know how to fix the problem. Don't wait too long though it could get worse.
