Turn off water from mains. Remove faucet handles to reach stems. Wrench counterclockwise / Remove center screw in each handle. Remove old shower faucet stems, nut and stem. Replace shower faucet stem. Screw new stem back. Place nut on tip of pipe, tighten. Turn the water back on. Test the stem for leakage.

Remove the screw holding the handle on. Pull handle off. This can be difficult you can buy a handle puller to help with stuck handles. Remove the bonnet nut if present. Remove stem. If plastic it pulls out if brass use a valve socket to turn out. Take old stem to plumbing shop to match. Reverse process.
