How do I set up the correct dpi in Photoshop?

Click image at the toolbar at the top of the screen. Then image size from the drop down menu. A window will open allowing you to change the size. In the box entitled resolution, simply change the number to your required DPI. 72 is the lowest recommended resolution that you should use.

In the Photoshop menu, choose Image > Image Size. In the box that appears, look under "Document Size" to find the input box labeled "Resolution". Type in your desired dpi there. Make sure that in drop-down menu to the right of where you fill in the number you choose "pixels/inch".

DPI is just an arbitrary value. It's used for printing. 300 DPI is the standard value for a high quality print. If you set your document size in pixel, and then set 300 DPI, it will tell you what's the biggest size you can print it without quality loss.

Say you have 8 megapixel photo. This is 3504 x 2336 pixels. You wish to print A4 11,68 inch wide. Then 3505/11,68 = 300 dpi. Conclusion: print of 8megapixel photo printed at 300 dpi is max. 11,68 inch wide.(photoshop: select image pulldown menu, select image Size.

You should always do this when you first create the document. When you create a new ducoment and choose the size you should also set the resolution (or DPI). It should be 300 if you're printing or 72 for the web. You can also check the resolution by going to the image menu and then image size.

Open the photoshop. Click image , then resize and finally image size. Type the dpi needed in the resolution box.

You can set the DPI when you create a new document, or change an existing document with the Image pull down menu and select Image size.

Just open a new document. By opening a new document you can choose the dpi. When you have done that, you can copy the picture into the new one.

if you're making a picture, your dpi depends on the quality you choose when you save. When you're scanning, you can find it on advanced setup.

Go to image pulldown menu. A dialogbox will appear with the option of changing resolution and image size. You can change to the required dpi or dots per inch.
