Don't pop the blister; that will only open it up to germs and infection. Run it under cool water to soothe the burn, or wrap ice in a washcloth and hold it against the burn. If the burn is severe, blackens, or begins to smell or ooze, you will need to see a doctor.

Keep it clean. Don't cover it with a bandage. Lightly cover with gauze. It needs air for healing. The blister will break on its own.

First apply burn ointment if you have any. If not, use some aloe vera or Neosporin. Don't pop the blister, and make sure it doesn't pop accidentally. Change the bandages and apply fresh ointment. If it does not heal and starts to look infected, go to the doctor.

Pour cold water on the lesion immediately after burn. Do not prick blister and within 2-3 days fluid will reabsorb. Apply silversulfadiazine on burnt skin. Protect lesion from injuries.

For minor burns initially you can run water over the burn to cool it down. Then you can use a cold compress, but don't use an ice bag. Wrap the burn in sterile guaze. Take pain medication. Most of the time ibuprofen is recommended because it's an anti-inflammatory.
