How do I tell if my EGR ports are clogged?

Remove the EGR valve and look into the ports below it. If no obstruction is visible, try spraying a little bit of carburetor cleaner into the port; if the fluid accumulates it's likely that the port is clogged, take a length of thin wire and gently push it through the port to verify the clog and/or clear the obstruction.

Well the only way to really tell is to disassemble the egr housing and inspect it yourself. That way you can actually see if there is any build-up in them and can clean them out.

Unless the egr valve has a provision for checking back pressure then there is really no way of telling short of removing it from the engine and visually inspecting them.

i was wondering if the manifold needs to come off or just the throttle body to clean the EGR. Any ideas about what would be best to clean the EGR ports
