We're sad to see her go, I know all of us have valued Jane's friendship during the 23 years we've been fortunate to work with her. Words can't express our sadness at not being able to interact with her daily. We realize she will still be our friend, and invite everyone to join in wishing her only the very best.

Say something like- "We all knew this day would come. Let us celebrate the memories, and enjoy each other's company." After this, include any formal greetings and pleasant words to go by.

Say something like - I would like to invite you to a farewell dinner to honor 'Mr. Smith' before he leaves our company. Mention if for retirement and if surprise.
