How do you choose your living room decor?

I like the more elegant looking decor. Lots of gold and browns. Price is always an issue. I seem to always find great decor at stores such as Marshalls, Ross, and HomeGoods. It's hit or miss, but usually I find something everytime I go that matches my decor and doesn't look cheap. Even though, it is very inexpensive.

Start by finding one or two pieces you love, perhaps a colorful pillow or piece of artwork. Move from there, drawing out colors from it to decide on major pieces in the room. Go neutral with big pieces such as the couch, table or bookshelves. If you'd like a special color, have it at least 3 places in the room.
