How do you determine if your coughing is due to Emphysema?

Getting a test performed by your doctor would be the quickest way. Do you smoke? Are you around smokers? One disease that is overlooked is Bronchitits. Which if chronic can damage the lungs beyond even what the lungs can fix. Leaving the lungs open for attack from foreign particles.

There is no way to determine this without seeing a doctor for an x-ray and other lung testing. See your doctor and request this kind of testing to determine what is causing the coughing.

Unless you have a history of smoking or exposure to second hand smoke, it is unlikely that you have Emphysema. To know for sure, see a doctor.

If you go to the doctor,there are special tests they can perform. One of the easiest is to take your o2 levels otherwiese know as oxygen levels and give you a breathing treatment. If your levels are low,they can do more tests to see if you do indeed have Emphysema or if it is something else
