You must open your computer's side and insert the floppy drive in the proper slot. Next, connect the floppy drive cable to both the drive and the motherboard. Also, attach the power cable from the power supply. Finally, Boot into BIOS and enable the floppy drive.

1.take it out. stall IDE Floppy Drive into computer. 3.attach the IDE wire. 4.reset your computer and start to use.

You will need the cable that connects the drive to the motherboard, either an IDE or SATA cable and the power cable which also plugs into the motherboard.

Sony floppy drives should be plug and play with today's operating systems, you should just be able to install and start the computer and have it recognize the drive.
