I have two. I have a small plastic tank w/partition. I clean water regularly. I feed them a quality betta food and follow the directions. They are relatively low maintenance fish, which is a big plus for them. That's pretty much all there is to it. Hope that helped you.

In raising a male betta, be sure that the water filter if there is, does not create too much current, as this kind of freshwater fish is quite sensitive unlike its female counterparts. If possible, put something like drift wood or round stone at the mouth of the output hose of the filter to control the speed of the current.

Put the fish in a small tank or bowl by itself. Do not put two males together. They are aggressive and will fight each other.

A major thing to know about raising male Betas: they FIGHT. They need a lot of space to themselves and often require big tanks if you get multiple.

First off you don't want more than one male. Two males will fight. Get a male and pair him with a female, or just has one solitary male. You can put another tank with another male next to him.
