Coat the skillet with cooking oil and bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hr. Do not soak when cleaning, rinse immediately after it cools, scrub with a mild abrasive if necessary, and dry on a very low burner, and coat sparingly with oil (spray oil is good for this) Re-season periodically. Lodge Logic makes pre-seasoned cast iron ware.

Heat the skillet and pour oil into it. Take it off the heat and let it sit for a couple of nights and do it often. Pour the oil out of the skillet and wipe the skillet down with a paper towel. Do not wash with soap or in a dishwasher! This will ruin it.

With a paper towel, wipe canola oil over the cooking surface. Spread salt over the surface and heat it up until the salt spits, cool, wipe the salt away.

There's nothing better than a well seasoned iron skillet. All you need to do is rub it with oil or shortning and put it in a slow oven a few hours. Another way is put an inch or so of oil or shortning and fry some french fries.

You need salt, and a lid or spatter guard to protect yourself. Cover the base with salt, heat the skillet until the salt begins to spit, covered with the lid or spatter guard. Make sure to heat every part of the base, take it off the heat, let it cool. Scrape out the salt with a wooden spoon and discard.

After initial cleaning, spread vegetable oil over cooking surface of skillet and place in a 300 degree oven for 1 hour. Let cool and wipe with clean paper towel.
