Hoya plants like any plants need water, and sun. Hoya plants especially love sun and their thick waxy leaves retain so much water that over watering could be an issue. Keep the plant in about 50 degree weather and water sparingly.

They require lots of light, and they like to be pot bound. They also do not require a lot of water as they are a member of the succument family.

Hoya plants are placed in hanging baskets. They grow slowly. For the frequent production of flowers we want to give direct sunlight. It is better to keep a piece of wood in the middle of the pot and wrap the stems of hoya plant around it. It has the capacity to grow in cool as well as hot places.

When you purchase a hoya plant, make sure to re-pot it as soon as possible after you get it home. Use a high quality potting soil, and water it thoroughly. You should let the soil dry out between waterings, and use a fertilizer that has a high middle number as this will produce blooms. Make sure you have enough sunlight!
