The key to toning muscle is high reps with less weight. You will want to pick a weight that is about 30% off the heaviest you usually lift, and do 3 sets of 30 reps. Another key to toning is cardio, which is essential for fat burn.

It can be achieved through weight lifting, use light weights but repeat it many times, take protein drinks. Push ups will also be a good way for this.

Toning up your muscles will require both proper exercise and diet. To harden the muscle without gaining muscle mass do a high number of repetitions with a relatively low amount of weight. Try doing four to six sets of between fifteen and twenty. In order obtain a toned and defined look you must also have a low body fat percentage.

First determine which areas that you want to done. Then try alternating thirty minutes of full cardiovascular exercise a day with thirty minutes of toning exercises to the area you want to tone. You should alternate exercises to keep from building up muscle mass where you don't want it while toning the area.

A basic exercise routine, or a good yoga workout, done maybe every other day, is the healthiest way. Bike riding and running are wonderful muscle toners, but can be hard on the joints. Swimming is easy on the joints and works out every muscle, keeping you slim and toned.

Toning your muscles can be achieved with weightlifting approach consisting of using low weight and high reps, 15 to 25 reps per set range, punctuated by very short breaks. Workouts should also include a thorough stretching routine and definitely some form of cardio.
