How do you troubleshoot car problems?

First, eliminate what you know. Then check the basics. Will the car turn over? Does it have gas? Is the battery dead? Will the lights come on. Does it only happen when moving? All of these answers are part of the process to narrow down where and what is wrong.

Well either contact a mechanic and get some advice or look online. It might be helpful to go online or buy a repair manual to get some guidance.
