BitTorrent is a way of sharing files that is non-centralized. Torrent sites on the internet host links which are used by BitTorrent clients to connect to other users on the internet who are sharing the file. In essence, you are downloading the files from other users rather than a centralized source. It is still illegal to download copyrighted files.

First you have to download BitTorrent itself. Simply going to bittorrent. com will allow you to do that. Once the application in installed on your computer you will then download whatever torrent you are trying to access. Download it using BitTorrent, and vuala! You now have a new file.
