Two weeks before my due date I took two a day orally. A week before, I began inserting one into my vagina before bed.

Evening primrose oil will not directly induce labor. It is used to soften and ripen the cervix, allowing the baby's head to engage deeper into the pelvis which can cause the cervix to dilate. Dilation of the cervix may cause some contractions, but will probably only be false labor.
