Kittens need to nurse for six to eight weeks at least to cover their suckling needs, and need to drink kitten replacement formula for at least that length of time.

Depending on the size of the litter it was born in, you will need to nurse a newborn kitten approximately 6 (small litter) to 8 (bigger litter) weeks. Do not hold the kitten like a baby in your arms, but allow the kitten to sit comfortably on your lap while you offer the bottle to the kitten to suckle on.

Kittens need to nurse until they're at least 6 weeks, but it is much better for their health and development if they are with their mother until 8-12 weeks.
