Generally it depends on the mother as to when she wishes to ween her kittens. Six to twelve weeks is about the normal. However I have seen cats that have nursed their kittens well into a year. These are the cats that will often times adopt other babies.

Kittens are generally weaned by the mother cat around 6-8 weeks of age. It's generally not a good idea to separate them before that time. Mother Nature has it under control and Mom will take care of it for you. Good Luck.

some kittens can be weaned in about four weeks. if you have one that isnt completely weaned, you can find it warm milk through a medicine dropper. its better to wait until the kitten is running around healthy and try it on some soft cat food.

Kittens can be weaned off their mothers milk from between 3-4 weeks of age. Food needs to be slowly introduced a bit at a time normally by about week 10 a kitten will be completely weaned from their mothers but the mother cat may allow the kittens to drink from her still untill they are rehomed at 13 weeks.

For the adoption processes, it is best to let the kitten live with its mother for 8 weeks before separating the two.
